How do I start or stop the NewsPoint service?

Click Start > Control Panel > Performance and Maintenance > Administrative Tools > Service. There you will find the NewsPoint service that can be started and stopped on request. You can also modify the properties and specify if this service should be started automatically or manually.

 
Where can I find the NewsPoint database with my news?

The database is located at C:\Program files\PresentationPoint\NewsPoint and is called NewsPoint.mdb. You can make as many copies as you want from this template database, but it should hold the same initial table structure.

 

How can I display my news in Microsoft PowerPoint?

NewsPoint is a tool to monitor your defined RSS news feeds and it will insert this information into the NewsPoint database. Now to display this information inside Microsoft PowerPoint, you need to install our DataPoint (Standard Edition) product. With DataPoint you can link your slides to external data sources like for example the NewsPoint database.
