Slimming World’s Head Office in Derbyshire, England, a
call centre handles
anything up to 4,000 calls a day from the general public who
call to find out where their nearest Slimming World group is
located.
A custom application had
been developed to display
call centre statistics to the staff taking calls but
proved unwieldy in that only the software development team could
make modifications to the presentation. This meant that any
changes required had to be carefully planned which didn’t
allow for spontaneous reaction to changing circumstances.
The discovery of the DataPoint
product proved to be a major
breakthrough. The I.T. Department did some initial work
to create the slides interfacing to the call-centre software,
these were then saved as a template. The design
and content can be now changed by anyone with elementary PowerPoint
skills giving Slimming World the flexibility it needs.
Future plans for further
extending the use of DataPoint include putting Plasma displays
into other departments to provide motivational
information for employees.
